Meal boxes consist of five breakfast and lunch meals and one gallon of milk per child.
In June on Wednesdays at two locations: Gamewell Elementary and Hudson Middle School. The drive-thru distribution times are 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and 3:30-5:30 pm. No distribution the week of July 4-8.

Summer Meals for Ages 0 to 18
Free meals will continue this summer for students and children ages birth to 18 years old.
Similar to last June, meal boxes consisting of five breakfast and lunch meals and one gallon of milk per child will be available on Wednesdays at two locations: Gamewell Elementary and Hudson Middle School. The drive-thru distribution times are 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and 3:30-5:30 pm.
Students who are enrolled in Summer Bridge, Read to Achieve, or WrapAround do not qualify during the enrollment period. There will be no distribution the week of July 4-8.
Starting July 11 through August 19, lunches will be offered for ages 0 to 18 years at the following sites: Martin Luther King Center, Mulberry Park, and Redwood Park. More details to follow.
Summer meals are provided by the CCS Child Nutrition Department and funded by the USDA.

Caldwell County Schools is now registering kindergarten students who will turn five years old on or before August 31, 2022.

New Administrative Recommendations Approved
At a School Board work session on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, Superintendent Dr. Donald Phipps recommended administrative assignments effective July 1, 2022.

WLMS Wins $500 for Reaching 100 Percent on the NC TWCS!
William Lenoir Middle School won prize money from the state for reaching 100% participation on the 2022 North Carolina Teaching Working Conditions Survey. The school was presented a $500 check provided by the NC Business Committee for Education and the NC Department of Public Instruction after its name was drawn from among other schools across the state that reached 100 percent.

CASA Class of 2022
Congratulations to the Caldwell Applied Sciences Academy (CASA) Class of 2022! The ceremony was held on May 26, 2022, at the JE Broyhill Civic Center. CASA is an innovative high school located on the campus of Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute. Students enter as freshmen and, within a four-year period, they have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and an associate's degree.

The School Board held an emergency meeting today (February 11, 2022) and the decision was made to make masks optional. This change takes place immediately. The school district will continue to monitor data and encourage anyone who wishes to wear a mask to do so.
