-STUDENT TRANSFERS FOR THE 2019 – 2020 CALDWELL COUNTY SCHOOL YEAR
ALL transfer students or potential transfer students carefully read the message below. Our transfer policy for Caldwell County contains a few new changes.
Please remember that a transfer student is a student who does not live in our district.

The significant changes in the transfer process this year:

    1. Open enrollment opens January 15th, 2019 and closes on February 28th, 2019.

    2. Open enrollment is earlier this year to allow for accurate calculation of teacher allotments.

    3. Transfer requests BEYOND the Open Enrollment period must meet EXTREME extenuating circumstances.

    4. Closed schools at this point in time: Davenport A+, Lower Creek and William Lenoir

    5. Students whose transfer applications are approved are REQUIRED TO FILE A NEW APPLICATION EACH SCHOOL YEAR. These students will be allowed to continue attending the transfer school provided certain conditions occur as outlined in Policy 4150. This annual process promotes a safe and orderly school environment and provides more accurate data on student placement.

    6. School district employees (upon verification) are required to file an application for student transfer for their own children. Such applications will be routinely granted, per policy 4150.

*Transfer paperwork can be picked up in our office.
If you have any questions about the newest changes to our transfer policy please call our office at 828 – 396 – 2222.
