Mrs. Dana Miller

I hope you are enjoying having your child in my classroom. I would like to tell you more about myself. I have a daughter, Kaylee, and a son, Trace. My children are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2001. I worked for J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center as a Recreational Therapist for 5 years. While working there I went back to school to receive my teaching certificate in Adapted Special Education. I am now teaching exceptional children with Autism. I feel that teaching children with Autism is my true calling in life. I want every parent to know that when they send their child to my classroom, they are sending their child to a teacher who loves them as her own. I believe that all children can succeed in life when given the right tools and supports in order to become a successful adult. My family loves to watch sports. I am a huge Carolina Panthers and Appalachian State University football fan, and a Carolina Tarheel's Basketball fan. If there is a game on I am watching or listening to it. I love to spend time playing with my family. In our free time we like to do anything outdoors: camping, hiking, picnics, park trips, and swimming. I love to read books by Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult.
