Experience: This will be my first year in my own classroom. I previously engaged in the classroom with students as clients when I worked as a Mental Health Professional. My education includes a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from UNCW and a Graduate Certificate for Counselor Education from NC State. I graduate this December with a Master's of Arts in Teaching from Lenoir Rhyne University! Additionally, I worked at Hibriten High School as their Permanent Substitute in the Spring of 2022.

As my students enter their classroom, I am tasked with ensuring they gain the knowledge required to grow and move forward. However, I also find I hold myself responsible for making sure each student knows that they are more important than a piece of paper they turn in. They're remarkable individuals with unique stories and have the ability to do anything they set their minds to.

Why I Became an Educator: As I have navigated life, educators have continued to influence me in ways that are greater than I could ever imagine. This has looked very different whether it was inspiring my love for math, or reminding me that I am my own person and I matter. I hope to have this impact on my students and am grateful to be just a small stepping stone on their journey to amazing adventures, careers, and lives.

Favorite Places in Caldwell County: Tough Enough Rodeo grounds are my favorite part of Caldwell County because I have rodeoed there since I was a little girl and is where I learned many difficult lessons about working hard and dedication.

Activites: I enjoy spending time with my 4 year old son and riding horses.
