I graduated from Appalachian State in 2004 with a degree in Middle Grades Education with certifications in Language Arts and Social Studies. I graduated in 2009 from ASU with a Masters in Middle Grades Education with a certification in Language Arts.

I began teaching at Hudson Middle after graduating from App State in 2004. I started teaching 7th grade Social Studies and Language Arts. I moved to 8th grade in 2011 where I teach Social Studies. Our curriculum focuses on United States history and how it effected North Carolina from exploration to present day.

One of my goals for teaching is to encourage my students to begin to think for themselves and to support their decisions with sound reasoning. I enjoy teaching my many students, and I hope that they learn to understand and appreciate the history of the US and NC.
