• Hello and welcome to the 5th grade!  I hope that your child had a fun, but restful summer.  I certainly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  I also spent alot of time planning for the school year and am excited about this year.  This is going to be a busy, but fun-filled year for all of us.  We have a lot of learning to do and I hope that your child is ready to get started!

I know that moving from 4th grade to 5th grade can be challenging academically and emotionally.  I will work extremely hard to promote a safe and positive learning environment that will help all of my students be successful.  I hope to build a trusting relationship with both parents and students.  It is my hope that you will not hesitate to talk with me.  Communication is essential in the development of a positive learning environment.  Feel free to email, send a note, or leave me a message at school.  I will get back with you as quickly as possible.

Expectations will be set high, but with guidance and support, every student has the opportunity to succeed in 5th grade.  When expectations are high both at home and at school, students will rise to meet the challenge.

I will continue to keep you informed by sending home school progress reports and newsletters.  I look forward to working with each one of you this year!
