Archery Permission

The Archery program is an opportunity for any 4th and 5th grader. This program is not to interfere with Chorus or Battle of the Books.

Students will need to be picked up at 4:00 behind the school gym (WrapAround parking).

Archery is not an activity students try-out for. It is an opportunity. All students in grades 4 & 5 will have the option to shoot for archery. Those showing the needed skills will be asked to be on the team. A good score for a 4th Grader is 180+. A good score for a 5th Grader is 190+. Always remember, it takes time to get better. If a student does not score this high, they should not quit. We do not choose the team right away. It takes a lot of training and strength. Many students gain skill quickly!

In September, we will look for students scoring 150 or higher.

In October, we will look for students scoring 180 or higher.

In November, we will look at the best we have to fill 20 spots.

Once chosen and the student commits, practice will be at least 3 times a week.

At the end of the season, we will shoot in the state tournament. To go to Nationals, our team will need to be #1 in the state. A student can also individually qualify for single spots to Nationals by being in the top 10 in the state for their area of boys or girls in the Elementary division.

The responsibility and cost falls on the archers who qualify. If cost is an issue, please contact a coach directly. We want everyone interested to have an equal opportunity to be a part of Baton Archery!
