I am Melissa Philyaw.  I have been teaching for 20 years.  I have been at Collettesville School for 15 years. I am married and have two sons.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Lenoir Rhyne University.  I have a Master's Degree in Reading from Appalachian State University.  I am also Nationally Board Certified in Literacy: Reading and Language Arts.

I am married to Timm, and we have a 23 year old son, Grayson. I have a BS and Master's Degree in Middle Grades Education, and I am a Nationally Board Certified in Literacy: Reading/Language Arts. I have previously taught in Middle School and 4th grade. This is my fourth year in the 2nd grade.
