Science: Light and Sight test. Started learning about sound waves with some old-fashioned textbook work.

Math: Reviewed the dividing decimals classwork/homework. Students took their Dealing with Decimals test. Able to use notes but no calculators.
Science: Finished up our last eyeball diagram. Reviewed light waves and parts of the eye with GIMKIT. Test tomorrow!

Math: Formative Assessment - without the use of calculators, students added/subtracted decimals - 12 basic operations (front), then answered 10 word problems (back). If they didn't finish it in class, it is to be finished for homework.
Science: Black History month presentation(s). Students watched two Study Jams videos, writing down the vocuabulary terms/definitions. They then took the Test Yourself quiz - writing down the questions and what they though the answers were. They placed a check mark if the got it correct and wrote down the correct answer if they didn't.

Science: Students fine-tuned their Black History month project that they worked on in class last Wed, Thur, and Fri. They chose a noted mathematician or scientist and created a Google Slide presentation to share with the class.

Science: Finished the NASA webwork review. Previewed the Black History month project kids will be doing Wed, Thur, and Fri this week. They are to choose a noted mathematician or scientist and create a Google Slide presentation to share with the class.

Science: NASA has an awesome website where anyone can go to listen, learn about and take a "Tour of the Electromagnetic Spectrum". Using their headphones/earbuds, students completed FITB notes as they delved into the mysteries of these waves.

Math: Learning the rules of how to deal with percents. Using the IS/OF proportion method, students will be able to solve any percent problem!
Science: Waves GIMKIT review - Properties of Waves test. When finished, students started learning about Electromagnetic Waves with a self-paced assignment in Study Island. They were advised to take their own notes, make sure they went through the flash cards, and then score an 80% or higher on the online questions.

Math: Students finished up their Surface Area & Nets classwork from Friday. As they completed their work, I checked it and if they got it wrong, tried to get them back on track. Those that finished started their Surface Area & Nets box lab, where they had to find the actual surface area of various boxes, then draw the net. Test on Wednesday!
Science: Started our unit on Properties of Waves with a Bill Nye video and FITB notes.
