Hey, y'all! My name is Victoria Tamburi, and I am an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher!

Experience
This is my sixth year teaching! All six of those years have luckily been spent at Gamewell Middle School, where I attended as a student. I have spent five years teaching eighth grade, with one year spent in seventh. All six of my years in education have been teaching English Language Arts.

My biggest goal as a teacher is to help students fall in love with reading. There is no such thing as someone who doesn't like to read; there are only people who don't like what they are reading. I want to help students ignite that spark. Once students have had a taste of something they enjoy reading, the flame will burn brighter and hotter. Creating lifelong readers is my main goal.

Why I Became An Educator
 I honestly couldn't imagine my life not being an educator. Sometimes I take a step back and realize that I get to go to a job that I absolutely love every single day. I feel like that is something truly special. When I was a student, there were a select few teachers that made me feel like I was a real person. Specifically, in middle school, I finally began to feel like I was important as an individual and not just another student in a room. I began to feel that way because my teachers showed that they cared about me, but not just in my academics, but in who I was as a person. That is what I strive to do every single day: prove to students that they are important and worthy, being exactly who they are.

Favorite Places in Caldwell County
My favorite spot in Caldwell County is The Shake-N-Dog in downtown Lenoir! I love being able to grab a yummy sandwich and sit outside and eat lunch! It is also always a nice way to end lunch with some tasty ice cream!

Activites
I enjoy spending time cuddled up with my two dogs while reading books!
