FFA... What is it??

Some of you may recognize these letters and Future Farmers of America may ring a bell to you. Unfortunately those letters no longer stand for Future Farmers of America they are just simply the letters that represent the club that you can be a part of if you are enrolled in an Agriculture coures at West Caldwell High School.

It is easy to become an FFA Member. All you have to do is enroll in an Agriculture class and pay your FFA membership dues ($15). Dues can be given to Ms. White anytime before the end of February.

There are so many opportunities offered to Agriculture student through FFA!! A few of those opportunities include:

    • Career Development Events (Competitions)
    • Attending FFA Summer Camp at Whitelake
    • Regional Ralley
    • NC FFA State Convention
    • National FFA Convention
    • Washington Leadership Conference
    • Regional Leadership Conference

    Career Development Events:

Career Development Events (CDE's) are events that students participate in that are relevant to different areas in agriculture. These are competitive events where students compete against students from other schools to see which team will advance on to the next level. Most competitions start at the Regional Level where Regional winners will advance to the State Level. State Level winners will go on to compete at the National Level. We will have several CDE Teams here at WCHS! Let Ms. White know if you are interested in competing in any events!

    FFA Summer Camp:

FFA Recreation Camp is a week long trip to White Lake, NC. Students will share the NCFFA Center with FFA Members from schools across the state for a week. Students will learn how to work together as a team and will get to show off their competitive side if they choose. This is an amazing opportunity for FFA Members! See Ms. White for more information!
