Grade Levels - Concepts Taught
8th Grade - Technological Systems
- Students follow the development and influence of automation and robotics as they learn about mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems. Students use the VEX Robotics® platform to design, build, and program real-world objects.
7th Grade - Technology & Society
- Students will learn the basics of the computer science field with an emphasis on programming/coding. We will be using various websites for coding activites along with videos and other materials. Students will focus on creativity and the design process as they create some basic apps.
6th Grade - Invention & Innovation
- Using various activities, students will learn about the field of engineering. Later, we discuss different forms of energy and how each impacts us, our world, and the environment. We will discuss alternative and renewable energy sources and how we can reduce our energy consumption.

In order to maintain a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning, the following RULES will be enforced.
1. Keep all food, drinks, and candy out of the computer lab
2. Use only your assigned computer
3. Respect others and their right to learn
4. Raise hand to be recognized
5. Be on time & be prepared with necessary materials (pen or pencil)Consequences for Rule Violations
Our school uses the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Support) program. This schoolwide program is aimed at rewarding and recognizing those who obey the rules while also providing consequences for those who don't.
Teacher reserves the right to use some discretion due to sometimes differing circumstances, but will follow the PBIS model.

Email is probably the fastest way to reach me, and my email address is listed on my home page. I check it regularly during the day and routinely check it at least once on weekends and holidays.
