  •     In This Class We Will:

    • meet the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for English Language Arts in reading, writing, language and communication                         
    • analyze classic and contemporary works of literature, nonfiction, and informational texts
    • acquire vocabulary
    • practice grammar and usage skills in the context of your reading and writing
    • work individually and collaboratively to complete multi-layered tasks which are geared toward thinking skills and communication
    • write, write, and write some more in different modes (persuasive, narrative, expository, descriptive, and research)
    • read, read, and read some more
     
    I have the utmost confidence that inappropriate behavior in the classroom will not be an ongoing problem. Nonetheless, I also want you to understand that in order to have a safe and appropriate classroom environment, it is important you follow a few classroom rules.
