Mrs. Susan Pope

My name is Susan Pope, I have been in education for 26 years as an educator in  elementary education and  high school. I have been employed as a Career Development Coordinator for Hibriten High School since August 2010. Since 2019, I have been the Career Developement Coordinator for Hibriten High School and West Caldwell High School.

I take pride in working with high school students and helping them with important decisions regarding their careers, high school and obtaining their goals.

I enjoy working with all grade levels 9th - 12th at Hibriten High School & West Caldwell High School. Students have many opportunities through taking Career & Technical Education (CTE) classes while in high school. They have the opportunity to earn Credentials, high school and some community college credit as well. All of this is FREE to the high school students through CTE.

In my personal life, I have been married to Jeff Pope since 1984 and we have two beautiful daughters. My daughter Jessica is a nurse, stay at home mom, and a substitute for the Caldwell County Schools. Our youngest daughter Audrey is a Medical Office Assistant for Viewmont Urology in Hickory. We have two wonderful grandchildren, Maggie & Colt which happen to be twins. They started kindergarten this year and love it. We have a black and white shihtzu named Hope.

It's highly recommended that a student completes a minimum of 2 CTE courses in a related program area prior to internship.

9th & 10th grade students are not eligible for career internships.

Acceptance and/or placement is not guaranteed.

If a student starts an internship but does not complete the required documentation and the required 120 hours, the student will receive a failing grade on their high school transcript.
