  • Kindergarten, Pre-K Enrollment & Student Transfers for 2024-2025 Info

    Kindergarten & Pre-K registration are open.
    We welcome all children turning five years old on or before August 31, 2024, to register for kindergarten here. Once you submit the online enrollment application, the school will call to schedule a screening appointment.

    For new or returning preschool students, click here to register. Students must be at least three years old on or before August 31, 2024. This registers your child with Caldwell County Schools. It does not guarantee enrollment in a preschool classroom. 


    Student Transfer Enrollment Open through February 28
    Depending on space availability, students may apply to transfer from their home school district to the school of their choice. Students currently on an approved transfer or who would like to transfer are required to complete the online application each year.

  • Open Enrollment for Student Transfers

    The open enrollment period for student transfers in 2024-2025 is January 15 through February 28.

    The online transfer application closes at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

    Students currently on an approved transfer or who would like to transfer must complete the online application each year and meet certain criteria defined in school board policies. Parents must show severe, extenuating circumstances to justify changing their child’s school if the transfer application is not completed by the deadline.

    All schools except Davenport A+ School, Granite Falls Elementary (Grades 1-5 closed, Kindergarten - Open) and Lower Creek Elementary are open for student transfers. Click here for details regarding policies regulating student transfers.

    School Transfer Application Support Session for English Learners
    The English Learner Department will provide Spanish interpreter support for school transfer applications on February 20, 2024, from 1:00 pm - to 5:00 pm at the Caldwell County Schools Preschool Readiness Center in the Freedman Staff Development Room. If Spanish speaking families need assistance with school transfer applications, Spanish interpreters will be on-site to assist with the application process. If an interpreter is required in a language other than English or Spanish, please email twaters@caldwellschools.com.

  • Caldwell County Schools Preschool Jump Start Program

    Caldwell County Schools is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Preschool Jump Start Program, a half-day preschool program for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds, with priority given to 3-year-olds. This program is free to all 3-year-olds. The Jump Start Preschool Academy is located at Whitnel Elementary School. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-10 am or 11:30 am to 2 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, classes are held from 8-10 am. Breakfast or lunch is included. Space is limited, so please apply soon!

    Parent Portal The Parent Portal lets you access your student's attendance, grades, test scores, assignments, and more.

    To view your student's test scores, go to Navigation and select State Test Reports. Your students' test results will be displayed. Please get in touch with your school's Data Manager if you are experiencing problems with your account.

    Teachers and Staff Dive into Staff Development

    As part of a strategic effort to enhance educational standards, Caldwell County Schools conducted a Professional Development Day on Friday, Feb. 23, marking the fifth of six dedicated days for school personnel this academic year. The focused day allowed teachers and staff to concentrate on refining their expertise and sharpening valuable teaching skills.

    New Student Support Services Director Announced

    The Board of Education convened on Feb. 12, during which Superintendent Dr. Donald Phipps officially announced the appointment of Dr. Ryan Cooper as the incoming Student Support Services Director, effective Mar. 1, 2024. Cooper, a proven education leader with a 15-year educational career, has collaborated closely with various student support staff.
