My name is Melissa Wiant and this is my eighth year teaching fifth grade at Gamewell Elementary. I have taught at GES for a total of 16 years now. My entire teaching career spans 24 years. I have experience in every elementary grade level.  I enjoy reading in my free time and helping with the Battle of Books team.  I also enjoy photography as a hobby. I am originally from West Virginia and moved to North Carolina in 1998.  I have 2 children, Brandon and Sarah.  Brandon is a senior at Western Carolina University, majoring in mechanical engineering.  He races dirt bikes in his free time and also enjoys mountain biking and road cycling.  Sarah is a junior at West Caldwell High School.  She is on the volleyball team and also races dirt bikes. I look forward to a wonderful year!
