Annamarie Stuckey

Ms. Stuckey has been at Whitnel for most of her educational career. She has done other jobs too. She  worked for the airlines for over 10 years before going into education. She taught 5th grade in Miami-Dade, Florida where she began her educational career over 25 years ago. She spent a couple of years in Catawba County teaching before becoming the media coordinator for Whitnel Elementary where she has been for over 20 years. She is the 2nd media coordinator the school has had. She coaches the Elementary Battle of the Books team.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology / Biology, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and an add on certificate in Administration. She is academically centered and promotes academic rigor. She promotes it for herself also. She received her National Board Certification several years ago.

Ms. Stuckey has two wonderful children. Philip has a Doctorate’s in Chemical Engineering and works for the Dept. of Commerce as a patent officer. Kristina is a junior at UNC Chapel Hill in Gillings School of Public Health. She is a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar which means she has to maintain high grades. Amazingly, both Philip and Kristina recieved the "Service Above Self" scholarship from the Hickory Rotary Club, although over a decade apart.

Cocoa is the family's crazy dog. She is 86 pounds, thinks she is a child, and is spoiled.

Ms. Stuckey still loves traveling to new places and to see her children.

Volunteers are currently unable to be on the school campus.
