Volunteers who are interested in participating in Level 3 Volunteer Activities: Chaperone, Math Tutor, Reading Tutor or Volunteer Coach - are required to have a criminal background check prior to participation.

Volunteers interested in these areas of service should have prior permission from school administration before selecting a Level 3 Volunteer Activity on Volunteer Tracker, the online application. The online volunteer application is located at caldwellschools.com, community tab and volunteers. This school year, volunteers who have received prior permission from administration and intend to accept a Level 3 volunteer assignment must complete the online application for a criminal background check. For all other areas of volunteerism, volunteers may select volunteer activities in Level 1 or Level 2. Volunteer activities in Levels 1 or 2 include Athletic Booster, Classroom Projects, School Fairs/Festivals, Field Day, Concessions, Presenters, Test Proctor, Clerical Assistance, and many other areas of volunteer service.

Volunteers who select a Level 3 are responsible for the full cost of the criminal background check. Individual costs may range from $6.00 (in-state only) to $30.00 (both NC and out of state).
