    Yesterday at Lenoir Golf Club the West Caldwell men’s golf team shot a 183 team score, just 3 strokes out of first place. After 2 conference matches the team sits in 3rd place overall, just 6 shots behind conference leader Maiden. The Warriors were led yesterday by Matt Gurnsey who shot a 4 over par 40, followed by Noah Watson’s 44 and Hunter Baker’s 46. The Warriors are back on the links next Tuesday at Lincoln Country Club.

    Seniors who plan to pursue a career in education, have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.0 are eligible to apply for the Caldwell County Association of Educators Scholarship of $500.  Applications are available from Mrs. Wakefield and due back to Mrs. Wakefield by May 5.

    Any rising 11th or 12th grade student that has signed up for the sports medicine class for next school year MUST come get and fill out an application from Coach Moose. 

     

    What?!  Wow!!  There really is a workshop available to any 9th, 10th, or 11th grader to help them get the best college admission and scholarship offers!!!  It only costs $25 per family!!!  The College Bound Essentials Workshop will be held Saturday, April 8th from 9 - 12 noon.  You must register by March 31.  Please see your counselor for more information.

     

    Seniors who plan to enroll in Winston Salem State University and have a minimum GPA of 2.8 can apply for the Brown Alumni Chapter (WSSU) Scholarship for $1000.  Please see Mrs. Wakefield for the application.

     

    Seniors pursuing a horticulture degree at a North Carolina college can apply for the Caldwell County Nurserymen Association scholarship.  Please email or see Mrs. Wakefield for the application document.  It is due March 31.

     Our Quiz Bowl team won two out of four matches and placed 7th out of 15 teams last night at the Division Championship Tournament.  We are very proud of these young people as this was only their 2nd match.  Please congratulate:  Matt Sloan, Jesus Pena Vicente, Katie Bolick, Greg Billings, Ivie Arnett, and Mackenzie Helms for a job well done.

    West Caldwell High School would like to welcome Goodland, Kansas, AFS to our school. Make Christina, Erin, Elizabeth, Casey, May, and Michael feel welcome today. We also welcome their AFS sponsors Mr. Jorgenson and Mr. and Mrs. Linin."

    AFS members going on the field trip, remember to eat first lunch, use the restroom, and board the activity bus.

     

    Congratulations to the West Caldwell High School NJROTC Orienteering Team which competed on Saturday with 10 other schools with 200 Cadets present in the McDowell High School NJROTC Orienteering Meet.  One or our teams consisting of Jordan DeRoost and Josue Euceda took 3rd Place overall for the White Course; and Nathan Moore took first place overall for the Orange Course.  Congratulations to all for a superb turnout and effort.

    American Red Cross Blood Drive

     

    Thank you West Caldwell High School Students, Faculty, and Parents for your generous support of our American Red Cross Blood Drive.  Because of your generosity and caring spirit, we as a school, donated 106 usable units of blood.  With the 100 units collected during our first semester drive our school gave a total of 206 units this school year.  Your donations will assist in saving 618 lives and gives us $2500.00 in scholarship money.  Thank you for your support.
