SAT word of the day is stickler (STIK lar). The meaning of stickler is a person insisting on something; purist. Example: The track coach was a stickler for fitness and preparation.

There will be a Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A at Smith Crossroads in Lenoir on April 24th from 5-8pm. A percentage of all sales on this night will go to Johannah Hayes and her family in order to pay for medical expenses due to Johannah’s diagnosis of ewing sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Please come out and support this family in our community! The more chicken sold, the more money the family will receive. The goal is to make this the largest grossing Spirit Night thus far. If you have any further questions, or would like to volunteer to help, please see Morgan Taylor or Makayla Roberts.
Cheerleading Tryouts will be April 30-May 3 from 3:30-6 each day. If interested you may pick up information packets from Tammy Taylor, Room 307 in the Math and Science Department. There will be information packets in the box on her door if she is not in her office.
New Beta members please see your sponsor to make sure your name is on the Program for Induction and is spelled correctly. Freshman see Mrs. T. CCC&TI Cosmetology Department is hosting an open house on April 17 from 2:30-5:30 if interested in this program you should attend to tour the facility, meet the instructors and enjoy refreshments. Located in the K-Building on the Hudson campus.

Congratulations to the West Caldwell Men's Golf team for their 1st place finish in yesterday’s 18 hole golf match at Orchard Hills Golf course in Granite Falls.
The Warriors finished with a team score of 316, 2 shots ahead of St. Stephens and 4 shots ahead of Alexander Central.
Lexton Ford led the Warrior charge to victory firing a sizzling 75. Lexton finished 1 stroke behind the overall medalist in yesterday's match.
Noah Bumgarner shot a solid 77, while teammates Matt Gurnsey and Senior Noah Watson shot 81 and 83 respectively. Senior Tyler Hedrick shot 93.
With 3 matches remaining the Warriors are in prime position and fighting for a spot as a team in the Regionals.
Next up on the schedule is a trip to Alexander County for an 18 hole match at Brushy Mountain Golf course this Thursday.

If you’re planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college, consider attending the Blue Ridge Energy Leadership Track Summit. This event takes place on March 10th, and aims to expose students to college bound essentials such as SAT/ACT prep, financial aid information, college essay writing, and more. If you’re interested in signing up or getting more information, please see your counselor!
Sign-ups for Spring College Visits to UNC-Charlotte and Western Carolina University are now available. Please make sure you get a permission slip for them as well.

Congratulations to Devin Bumgarner, Freddy Guardiola, and Easton Griffin all qualified for the state wrestling tournament! Easton finished 3rd while Devin and Freddy finished 4th .They will be wrestling in Greensboro starting this Thursday. Everyone tell them good job, it is a huge accomplishment!
Anyone interested in running track needs to meet in the Media Center at 3pm on Wednesday, February 14. In order to be eligible you must have a valid physical and have passed 3 out of 4 classes last semester. The meeting will last until about 4pm. If you are unable to attend, you can see Coach Ramsey in the Social Studies Department to get information.
Golf practice begins Wednesday, Feb. 14th.
