Mr. Jordan Canterbury

Hello! My name is Mr. Jordan Canterbury. I grew up in Caldwell County (I attended GFES, GFMS, and CECHS) and earned my Bachelor's in Secondary Mathematics Education in 2017 from AppState. I have taught math at South Caldwell since 2017. South Caldwell is a great school and I am fortunate to get to teach math with the Freshman Academy.

My advice for rising 9th grade math students: always give it your personal best. You don't have to be a fantastic math student to be successful in my math class. I place a lot of personal value in things such as putting forth effort, persevering, and acting with maturity. Be willing to make mistakes and grow from the process. Math isn't always going to be easy, but giving up can't be an option.

Required Materials:
1" to 1.5" three ring binder
8 tabbed dividers that go in a three-ring binder
Lined filler notebook paper
Pencils
Ink Pen(s)
Highlighter(s)
Ruler
Laptop with Charger
Earbuds/Headphones (wireless is okay, as long as they can connect to your laptop)

You are NOT required to purchase a fancy graphing calculator for my class. Calculators will be provided for in-class use. For out of class, I would suggest using the Desmos online graphing calculator (it's free!)
