Hey y'all!

I'm Miss Goodman. This is my 4th year teaching 1st Grade here at Horizons. I'm proud to be a STAR FISH! I love my school kiddos, and strive to make my classroom a comfortable atmosphere where they can have fun, laugh, smile, learn, and GROW! My favorite subject to teach is Science and Social Studies. I try to make learning fun and memorable for my students. This year we will learn all about plants by growing our own Lima Beans. Later on, we will hop aboard our "airplane" and travel to several countries to explore different Christmas and other holiday traditions. We read stories, keep a feelings journal, and practice different techniques that teach us how to regulate our emotions. My goal for my students is to not only help them grasp important academic skills, but to leave my classroom with a growing appreciation for themselves and others around them.
