Mrs. Megan White

Welcome!!

I am so excited to be a member of the Oak Hill community!

I am a graduate of Appalachian State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and a minor in Psychology.  I also received my Master of Arts in Communication Disorders, also from Appalachian State University. Go Mountaineers! ; )

This will be my second year working as Oak Hill's Speech Language Pathologist. I began my career with Caldwell County Schools in 2008, working at Whitnel Elementary for two years.  Then I began working at Dudley Shoals Elementary School for the next eight years, from 2010-2018.  Last year, I took a leap of faith and made the transition to serve the Collettsville and Oak Hill communities in 2018.  The 2019-2020 academic year will mark my twelfth year working for Caldwell County Schools.

I also provide speech therapy services in several rehab facilities as needed.  I have supervised several graduate clinicians from ASU, as well as SLP Assistant interns from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.  I received my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2009.  I have a passion working with children with autism.  I've been a member of the District Autism Coaching Team and also the Regional LEA Autism Coaching Team.  I am also an active participant of the North Carolina Speech Hearing and Language Association (NCSHLA) Membership Committee.

I reside in Lenoir with my husband, Neil and step daughter, Trinity.  I’m an adrenaline junkie who loves competing in triathlons, half or full marathons.  I love Jesus, animals, neon, Bret Michaels, anything to do with the outdoors and renovation projects.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call, email or send a note.  I look forward to helping your child meet their speech/language goals for this upcoming school year!
