Mrs. Susan Snodgrass Walker

I began my teaching career in education in 1996 at Gamewell Elementary School as a second grade teacher.  During the twelve years at Gamewell, I taught kindergarten and second grade and served as Curriculum Coach for all grade levels.  For the past 13 years, I have served at the Education Center in the Title I Department as an instructional facilitator, program specialist, parent trainer, NC SIP coordinator, professional development coordinator, and school improvement coordinator.

After graduating from John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, West Virginia, I attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where I earned an Associate of Applied Sciences degree (1984) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude, 1986).  After Marshall, I attended Washington and Lee Universtiy School of Law before transferring to Campbell University School of Law in Buies Creek, North Carolina.  I earned a Juris Doctorate, cum laude,  in 1989. I worked in several small legal firms eastern North Carolina before completing elementary licensure courses in 1995 at Elizabeth City University.  I earned a Master of School Administration from Appalachian State University in 2006 and have completed additional post graduate courses at Western Carolina University.

I am looking forward to working with Mr. Little and the Spartan administrative team. While high school is a new setting for me, I feel prepared to step into South Caldwell High School as an assistant principal because of the excellent administrators that have supported my continual learning and believed in me during my tenure in Caldwell County. This will be an opportunity to use my skills and build new understandings to support a school that believes in educational excellence for all students.
