Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Gragg

Experience: This is my first year in Education after graduating from Western Carolina University. I student taught 7th Grade English Language Arts at Bethel Middle School during the 2021-2022 school year. I am joining the Gamewell Middle School Staff as a 6th Grade English Language Arts/ Social Studies teacher.

Favorite Educational Quote and Why: My favorite athlete Kobe Bryant once said "Everything negative- Pressure, challenges- is all an opportunity for me to rise." This applies to education because we all face challenges and stress in learning, but showing persistence and growing through struggle is how we all change ourselves for the better. I love this quote for my students because there will be times when they are faced with a hard task or something they don't understand and I want them to be able to face the challenge and grow from it.

Why I Became An Educator: I have been blessed with several educators in my family that have shown me the importance of not just education but working with students to create well rounded individuals. I am a big advocates for all content areas, but the depth of knowledge available to students in English is so important to me because I am able to teach content but also show students new perspectives and things that can shape their life mindset.

Favorite Places in Caldwell County: I enjoy the Quest 4 Life center in Lenoir, their staff are super friendly and working out there is a way that I take care of my mental well being. Another place I enjoy is Tybrisa books in Lenoir: a great spot to pick up books for a good price! Then hit up "The Flour Shop" for a sweet treat!

Activites: I enjoy spending time with my fiance and our new puppy we got in May of 2022! I also enjoy playing golf with my friends whenever I can get out with them and working out.
