Welcome to 5th grade!!!
This year we will be learning about everything from ecosystems to forces and motion. We will be reading many exciting books, such as Thunder Rolling in the Mountains and The River Between Us. I am excited about being your homeroom teacher for language arts, science, and social studies. Mrs. Phillips is going to teach us how much we really apply math to our everyday lives. There will be lots of hands-on activities and active learning! Get ready and hang on tight for a great school year!
I welcome you to the fifth grade and I am so excited about this year!
Please download the TalkingPoints app to your phone.
TalkingPoints is a free application that lets you communicate with your children’s teachers and school. You will be able to send and receive messages through this application in your preferred language, because TalkingPoints will translate your message into English for teachers. Please sign your child's reading log after he/she has read at least 30 minutes. Your child needs to read Monday through Thursday, but they are encouraged to read every day.
Any unfinished class work: Any work not finished in class will need to be completed and sent to school the following day.
Occasionally, there will be short math or reading worksheets sent home to complete or science information to study for homework.
