    WLMS 2024-2025 CHEERLEADING TRYOUT April 15, 2024 @ 5:30 Mandatory interest meeting for parents and any student wanting to tryout for cheerleading in the gym. Tryout Clinic Dates Apr 29-30, May 1, 2024 3:15 - 5:00 p.m. May 2, 2024 3:15 - 6:30 p.m. Tryout You must have an active physical to participate in order to tryout. Physicals must be on the Caldwell County Schools Physical form. You can visit www.caldwellschools.com for a copy. It was even more special to have Hibritten alumni and some awesome WLMS staff members join in on the fun! Seeing everyone's smiles and competitive spirit was truly rewarding.     Junior Fire Academy

    Our students have been invited to apply to a FREE weeklong academy for those interested in the Fire/Medical Field. This is a wonderful program with some really cool activities. There are 30 spots available for this camp. We have had students participate from WLMS in the past and they loved it. There is a QR code on the flyer below with a link to the application. Students must fill out the application to be considered for the camp.

    Canned Food Drive

    Calling all students! The Beta Club is excited to announce the "Restock the Shelves Canned Food Drive" this year! Help us restock the shelves of our local food pantry and support those in need. The drive will run until January 12, so gather your canned goods and help us make a difference. How to participate: Bring your canned goods to your homeroom teacher. Encourage your friends and family to donate as well. Prizes: The winning homeroom with the most donations and the top collecting student will receive a prize! Let's work together to make this food drive a success! Your donations will help provide much-needed meals to those in our community. Thank you for your generosity! Together, we can make a difference!

    Early College Parent Night

    Early College Parent Night is on January 10th at the Civic Center, 1913 Hickory Blvd Lenoir, NC at 5:30pm. On January 11th, parents may tour the Early College from 3:30‑6pm. This is a floating time, pop in when you can between 3:30‑6pm.

    ATTENTION: CASA's application deadline has been extended to February 2nd. For those students interested in attending either CASA or Early College. The CASA application goes live December 1st and will be up until January 31st. The application can be found on CASA's website. The Early College application goes live December 15th until January 24th. The application will be on their website.

    William Lenoir's first book fair of the school year is next week, September 18th-22nd. The book fair will be open on Tuesday, September 19th after school from 3-5pm. Credit and debit cards, cash, checks made to WLMS and Scholastic ewallet are accepted. Please join us at our book fair. All purchases benefit the WLMS Media Center.
