The GFES AIG classes have been working on designing and testing solar ovens. Students have been using Labquests to record temperatures inside of the ovens. They looked at the different properties of materials and determined what would make them good insulators and conductors. They were able to raise the temperatures on the Labquests to 126 degrees, and managed to keep some ovens so well insulated that they only lost 6 degrees when moved into the shade for 5 minutes. The fruits of their labor were delicious S'Mores!
