DARE Graduation

We had our DARE graduation for our 5th grade students on December 17th. We had a wonderful turn out of parents and community members, that were able to show their support. Scott Kanupp, School Resource Officer (SRO), and other Lenoir police department members taught an hour class every week for the past couple months. The ceremony was a huge success, newly elected Caldwell County School Board member, Chris Bumgarner, was the guest speaker. Other Caldwell County School Board members were in attendance, among them were Duane Knight and Darrell Pennell, along with Caldwell County Schools superintendent, Dr. Phipps. There was an essay contest amongst the 5th grade students, where students had to use what they learned and write about it, Kyle Williams from Mrs. Normans class, won the contest. We would like to thank all of those that were in attendance for their support, and we would like to once again congratulate our 5th grade DARE graduates.
