Pennell Re-elected to the North Carolina School Boards Association
School Board Chairman Darrell Pennell has been re-elected for a second, two-year term to the North Carolina School Boards Association Board of Directors.
“I enjoy serving in this capacity,” said Pennell who began his second term in November 2018. “It gives Caldwell County Schools a greater voice in decision-making on topics affecting the future of public education.”
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the association with 33 members and a slate of officers that promote and advocate for public education by addressing legislative issues and needs of schools. The association also provides training and resources for school board members throughout the state.
Pennell said, “Serving in this position allows me to bring greater awareness about our own needs in Caldwell County to the state level. I work with distinguished School Board members from all across North Carolina, and we’re always sharing ideas and working to improve education.”
