Pennell Serves as President-Elect of the North Carolina School Boards Association
The North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) has elected School Board Chairman Darrell Pennell to the office of President-Elect for a one-year term effective immediately. The slate of officers was presented at the recent NCSBA convention held in Greensboro.
“I am honored to be serving in this capacity,” Pennell said. “It’s an opportunity to have direct input on topics affecting the future of public education.”
NCSBA is a professional organization that represents local boards of education in North Carolina and supports school leadership comprising of school board members, superintendents, senior administrative staff, and board assistants. The association provides training, resources, and leadership development for school board members throughout the state.
Pennell was re-elected for a second, two-year term to the North Carolina School Boards Association Board of Directors in March 2019 and at the end of his tenure as President-Elect, he will serve as President of the association for one year.
“Serving in this position will allow me to bring greater awareness of our own needs in Caldwell County to the forefront,” Pennell said.
