Spreading Holiday Cheer with Hundreds of Gifts

Caldwell County Schools, in partnership with generous local businesses and organizations, is delighted to announce that nearly 500 students will receive gifts this holiday season. In the spirit of giving, corporate donors, such as Bernhardt Furniture, Google and Granite Insurance, along with organizations including Impact Rotary, Cedar Rock Tennis Team and the Whoville Christmas Classic Livestock Show, filled the boardroom today at the Education Center with gifts for students of all ages.

“This is always a humbling experience to participate in the power of community with a shared commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students,” said Superintendent Dr. Don Phipps. “We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the businesses and partners who generously contributed to this meaningful cause.”

The corporate and partnership donations, ranging from bikes to toys to clothes and books, will be distributed among some 225 students in grades K-12. Another 216 students will receive gifts through the CCS Backpack Program that provides weekly food and meals for students over the weekends and holidays. The annual initiative is aimed not only to spread holiday cheer but also to alleviate any financial strain on families during this festive time of year.

In addition to these gifts, school social workers and counselors organize Angel Trees for gift giving to identified students. Business partners and employees throughout the school district contribute and make generous donations to provide a wonderful holiday season for students.
