SAT word of the day is vortex (VOR tex). The meaning of vortex is whirling mass; whirlpool.. Example: The vortex of the tornado whirled its way through the center of town.

Students- if a teacher ask for a cell phone and the student refuses, administration will not then ask for it. A refusal is a refusal, which will mean 1 day OSS. 

Students this is a reminder that if you have not purchased your parking pass you need to do so by this Monday, September 30th. If you have not purchased a parking pass by this date, starting October 1st  parking tickets will start being issued. Please see Mr. Hosfield for a parking pass. 

It is not too late to sign up for the PSAT, we still have some open spots.  Come see Mrs. Pippen in the main office if you are interested in taking the PSAT.  The PSAT is open to Juniors, Sophomores, and interested Freshman. The cost is $17.  If you are thinking about taking college classes while in high school, it’s a great idea to take the PSAT.  Scores can be used to help you be eligible to take CCC&TI courses. If you are looking at the Merit Scholarship, you must take the PSAT your junior year.

Black & Blue Competition between West Caldwell and Hibriten will begin at Chick-fil-A next Monday, September 30th at 10:30 am. Through October 4th at 12:00 pm. The school that has the highest score at the end of the week will receive a check donated to their athletics. Remember to use the App to get double points.


Yearbook will be collecting senior baby picture from now until October 21st. Please submit your picture to Ms. Storie in Computer Lab 2.

Appalachian State admissions representative will be here Monday, September 30th from 11:00 – 1:15. Stop by during your lunch to speak to them if you are interested in attending ASU.


Congratulations to the JV Football team for their win last night at East Burke-34-22. Way to go Warriors!

Varsity Football will play at home against East Burke! Come out and support your Warriors!

Any girl interested in playing basketball come by the auxiliary gym this week to see Coach Mangum this week.  There will be a brief informational meeting next Wednesday Oct 2 after school in the auxiliary gym.
