SAT word of the day is alliterative (uh LIT er ah tive). The meaning of alliterative is the repeating of initial consonant sounds in language. Example: “She sells seashells down by the seashore’ is an alliterative tongue-twister.

STUDENT INFORMATION:

Students this is a reminder that if you have not purchased your parking pass you need to do so by this TODAY.  If you have not purchased a parking pass by this date, starting tomorrow, parking tickets will be issued. Please see Mr. Hosfield for a parking pass. 

Reminder National Technical Honor Society Members the Induction Ceremony is Tuesday, October 1st at the Civic Center begins at 6:00 pm. Students are to arrive at 5:30 pm and report upstairs when they arrive. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pope. 

Any Beta club member who would like to attend the district convention on October 22 needs to see Mrs Hatton in room 343 (or email her) by this Thursday, October 4.

Black & Blue Competition between West Caldwell and Hibriten will begin at Chick-fil-A today, September 30th at 10:30 am. through October 4th at 12:00 pm. The school that has the highest score at the end of the week will receive a check donated to their athletics. Remember to use the App to get double points. Tell all your family and friends to buy for West Caldwell.

Students from 9 high schools including 7 JROTCs were present at the Lincolnton Citizens Center to listen to speeches made by the 3 Medal of Honor recipients. The recipients talked to the young women and men about goal-setting, lift-time efforts, being a positive asset to their communities and country.   Students were allowed to ask questions at the end, get a photograph and autographs. Everyone there was extremely motivated by these heroic men at the conclusion of the event.

SENIOR INFORMATION:

Yearbook will be collecting senior baby picture from now until October 21st. Please submit your picture to Ms. Storie.

Appalachian State admissions representative will be here TODAY from 11:00 – 1:15. Stop by during your lunch to speak to them if you are interested in attending ASU.

SPORTS:

Soccer, Volleyball and Tennis will play at home against Hibriten. Come out and support your Warriors!! Lets beat those Panthers!!

Any girl interested in playing basketball come by the auxiliary gym this week to see Coach Mangum this week.  There will be a brief informational meeting next Wednesday Oct 2 after school in the auxiliary gym.
