STUDENT INFORMATION:
Jaleah Battle was selected as a finalist for the Charlotte Observer Player of the Week for her performances in last week’s games. Please remember to go to your school email and vote for Jaleah. Please vote and vote often.
All AFS students planning on attending the social event for February the 21st from 6-9 PM need to pre-pay your $10 to Mr. Smith by this Friday by the end of the school day.
Mu Alpha Theta members interested in attending the NCCTM Math contest at ASU need to pay $10 to Mrs. Kimberlin by Friday, February 20th.

Caldwell County Public library is having a letter writing contest called “Dear Martin” (aka Dr. King) based off the book, “Dear Martin” by Nic Stone. Think about what you would say to him, what you would ask him, share your dreams and get creative in this letter. The winner will receive all of Nic Stone’s books with her autograph. Deadline for entries are next Friday, February 21, 2020 at 5:30 pm. If you are interested in this, please see Mrs. Craven in the Media Center or one of the English teachers.

The James Larkin Pearson Poetry Competition will take place on April 25, 2020 at the Whippoorwill Academy and Village in Ferguson at 1:00 p.m. High school students can enter only 2 poems per students. Students please enter this great opportunity. The winning poems will be read at the event and prizes will be awarded. All poems need to be sent to Amy Burns, of WLMS by March 13.
SENIOR INFORMATION:
Seniors, the Lenoir Rotary Club scholarship application is now available. One for those seeking a 4 year degree and one is for a baseball player seeking a college degree. See Mrs. Wakefield for the paper application. Check out the WCHS scholarship page for more details.
Seniors, if you have been admitted to a college/university please stop by Ms. Vargas office in business hall so she can take a copy of your admittance letter or send her a copy through email. She will be making a bulletin board and recognizing students who have been accepted to college.
SPORTS:
Track will be meeting in the Media Center this afternoon at 3:05. Put those running shoes on!
Spring sports tryouts begin today!. You must have an up to date physical in order to try out.
