This is National School Social Work Week and it celebrates school social workers. WCHS would like to thank Ms. Ashley McKinney for all her hard work in helping students meet academic, social, and emotional challenges.
SAT word of the day is nondescript (non dih SKRIPT). The meaning of nondescript is of no recognized, definite type; ordinary. Example: The famous actor wore nondescript clothing so that he wouldn’t stand out in public.

STUDENT INFORMATION:
ROTC Blood drive is this Thursday, March 5th, please sign up during lunches if you are 16 or older. Donors will receive a $10 Visa Card!
Attention AFS members, please vote in the poll for our possible March 13th field trip. Also, those going on the short term exchange to Wisconsin, check your school email this week for updates.

If you would like to be in the video production class (produce the morning news) or a media assistant, please come by and pick up a form. Students must have good attendance, references from 2 academic teachers, and GPA of 2.5 or higher.
On Friday March 13th pie your favorite teachers during your lunch for Pi Day. Tickets to watch, go on sale during lunches starting Monday for $1. The day of you can pay $1 to get 2 pies to throw. Support Mu Alpha Theta raise money for scholarships.

Dress to Impress 2020 is Saturday, March 21 everyone at Mountain Grove Church! Prom is crazy expensive with the dress, hair, nails, the ticket, etc, let us help you! We have dresses of every shape, size, color, style, anything you could want! That includes shoes and accessories as well! And everything is 100% FREE!! We’re preparing for you, praying for you, and have over 800 BEAUTIFUL DRESSES waiting on you!! There are no prerequisites to attending this event, all you have to do is just show up! (I recommended coming early because the line starts early!) Doors open at 9am!"The first 100 girls will receive a t-shirt and door prize.
SENIOR INFORMATION:
The Ron and Christine Beane Scholarship for $1000 is now available in Wakefield's office. Seniors attending a 2 OR 4 year college can apply. Criteria includes academic achievement, school involvement, community service, leadership potential, good character and financial need. Preference is given to those with financial need. Due May 1.
The Kiwanis Club of Lenoir application is also available in Wakefield's office. Due May 7. Seniors attending a 4 year college can apply. Character, service, and academic records are reviewed. Financial criteria applies. See Wakefield for more information

Softball plays Watauga at home. Game starts at 4:00.
