Congratulations to WCHS Chamber Choir for their SUPERIOR rating at MPA this past Friday. They really did a fabulous job pulling such an exceptional performance together even after Mrs. Wolfe’s maternity leave. These pictures show the joy they experienced when Mrs. Wolfe told them their rating. (pictures)

Read-a-thon will take place in the media center on Early Release Day, March 20th for $5. Also during the Read-a-thon, we will be giving prizes away every 15 minutes. No phones, food or drink in allowed. Read, Read, Read!

AFS Students-The last day to turn in your money for the March 13th field trip is this Thursday!!!

On Friday March 13th pie your favorite teachers during your lunch for Pi Day. Tickets go on sale during lunches starting Monday for $1. You can pay $1 to get 2 pies to throw. Support Mu Alpha Theta raise money for scholarships.


If you are planning to pursue any career in the construction field, the Kenneth Houston Memorial Scholarship is now available.  Please see Wakefield for the application.  It is due in April.

Students who plan on attending a college for a 2 year OR LESS career or technical degree or certification program in the Fall, you may be eligible to apply for up to $2500 at the Horatio Alger National Career and Technical Scholarship program.  Applicants must be Pell grant eligible.  The application link is on the WCHS scholarship website.  See your counselor to see if this is for you!


Congratulations to the West Caldwell Men's golf team for their convincing and dominating win yesterday at the first conference golf match of the year at Hampton Heights in Hickory.

The Warriors finished in first place among the eight team by shooting a team score of 152, 34 strokes ahead of Fred T. Foard and 40 strokes ahead of Hibriten.

West was paced by Junior, Noah Bumgarner, who shot 35 on the day.  Noah was also the medalist in the event, finishing first individually.

The Warriors also had excellent scoring from Hunter Baker, Lexton Ford and Jordan Bumgarner, who each shot a score of 39.

Congratulations to the entire team.

They are back in action Thursday at Lenoir versus Alexander Central and West Lincoln.
