Board of Education Conducts Walk-through in the South Caldwell District
The Caldwell County Board of Education visited with students, teachers, and administrators at South Caldwell High School and its feeder schools during the School Board’s third and final scheduled walk-through for the school year.
“These visits allow us to move together in a supportive role from school to school and from classroom to classroom,” said Board Chairman Darrell Pennell.
Board members began their day at the innovative high school Caldwell Early College High School located on the campus of Caldwell Community College in Hudson. They then traveled to South Caldwell High School, Sawmills Elementary School, Granite Falls Middle, Granite Falls Elementary, where they ate lunch in the cafeteria with students, then on to Dudley Shoals Elementary, Gateway School, and Oak Hill School. The walk-through concluded at Whitnel Elementary, and the Board held a brief community meeting attended by Whitnel Elementary students, staff, and administration.
“We enjoy interacting with the students, faculty, and staff,” said Pennell. “It helps us to build stronger relationships with teachers and to personally see their tremendous commitment to education.”
The Board of Education schedules three walk-through events each school year at the high schools and their respective middle and elementary schools.
