Caldwell County is among North Carolina school districts working with Sandy Hook Promise to offer training to school-level staff and students on the free online app where secure anonymous safety concerns can be reported to help at-risk individuals before they hurt themselves or others.
High school and middle school faculty, staff, and students received instruction on properly using the anonymous reporting system, which went live for the school district on January 27. Since then, 62 anonymous tips have been made.
"With Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, it’s easy and completely confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies," said Jill Duffy, Student Support Services Director. "School safety is our top priority, and we encourage all students who hear or see something perceived as unsafe - to say something"
