SENIORS GET HELP WITH WHAT'S NEXT AFTER GRADUATION
Seniors and their parents have access to a newly created comprehensive resource list titled “What’s Next, Class of 2020?” to help with students’ transition from high school to steps following graduation, whether it be career, military, or college bound.
“We may not be together in the school buildings, but we are here to discuss and answer questions regarding topics that are on the minds of our seniors,” said High School Director Leigh Anne Frye. “This document will continue to grow based on needs and suggestions.”
High school counselors surveyed seniors on the most relevant and pressing issues facing them during school closure that pertain to planning for a successful transition after the school year ends. The survey resulted in three primary categories of interest: paying for college, community college information, and time management with other areas also included such as college life, financial aid, careers, personal care and fitness, and military. Each section of the document provides links, articles, and strategies designed specifically for young people and parents to make the best decisions for a bright future beyond the high school setting.
“This is a living document,” said Frye. “It will continue to grow into a library of resources for all high school students and their parents.”
