The Governor's School of NC is the oldest statewide summer residential program for high school students in the nation. The program, which is open to rising seniors only, with exceptions made for rising juniors in selected performing/visual arts areas, is located on two campuses, Governor's School East and Governor's School West. Governor's School West began in 1963 and Governor's School East began in 1978. Any rising junior or senior with achievement/grades in the top 5% of his/her grade level should see a high school counselor and your high school AIG Specialist, for more information about this exceptional opportunity.
