Kindergarten
Calling All Future Scientists, Artists, and Leaders! 🌟
Is your little explorer ready to take the next big leap? Kindergarten enrollment is officially OPEN! From discovering the magic of reading to making lifelong besties on the playground, the journey of a lifetime starts right here. We can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2039 to our hallways!
We are looking for the next generation of world-changers to join our Kindergarten family. If your child is ready for a world of "Aha!" moments, messy art projects, and big smiles, you’re in the right place. Let’s learn together.
Step 1: Registration
2026/2027 School Year Kindergarten Registration
Registration for the 2026-2026 school year opened February 2, 2026. A child entering Kindergarten must be five years old on or before August 31, 2026 to start Kindergarten in 2026.
During enrollment, parents/guardians will need to provide a utility bill as proof of address, a completed Kindergarten health assessment/evaluation*, and immunization records. Call the school your student will attend if you have additional questions.
2026-2027 Kindergarten Enrollment
After completing the enrollment form, contact the school your student will attend to schedule a Kindergarten screening appointment.
Parents who wish to transfer their student to a different school for kindergarten will need to fill out the Kindergarten Enrollment form and then fill out the Current Student Transfer Request application. Please contact the school your student will be attending if you have any questions or concerns.
*North Carolina law requires that every child have a completed Kindergarten Health Assessment form on or before the first day of school, but no more than 12 months before the date of school entry. Kindergarten Health Assessment Forms are available at schools, doctors' offices, and the Caldwell County Health Department.
Step 2: Schedule Screening
Kindergarten Screening
Kindergarten Screening isn’t just a checklist; it’s your family’s all-access backstage pass to the upcoming school year.
Here is what’s waiting for you at Kindergarten Screening:
🗺️ The Grand Tour
You and your mini-scholar will get to explore the hallways, peek into the classrooms, and meet the Kindergarten Teachers—the real-life superheroes who will be guiding the adventure. It’s the perfect time to find the cafeteria, check out the playground, and start shaking off those kindergarten jitters.
🤝 Meet the School Squad
Think of this as a "Meet and Greet" with the people who keep the gears turning. You’ll get the inside scoop from:
-
The PTA/PTO: Your fellow parent-pioneers.
-
WrapAround: The masters of before and after-school fun.
-
Transportation: The friendly folks who manage the big yellow buses.
-
Child Nutrition: The "Lunch Heroes" fueling your student's brain.
📂 The "Golden Ticket" Checklist
To ensure everything is official, you’ll need to bring your "Starter Pack" of documents. To keep things moving fast, have these ready to go:
-
The Basics: Your personal and emergency contact info (who do we call for a high-five or a scraped knee?).
-
The Birthday Proof: A birth certificate or official record (proof they really are that big already!).
-
The Home Base: Proof of address (a utility bill, deed, or lease will do the trick).
-
The Health Files: An updated immunization record and the completed Kindergarten Health Assessment from your doctor.
Call your student’s school to schedule their Kindergarten screening!
