A Heart for Home: Adrienne Dula Named Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Caldwell County Schools
LENOIR, NC – Caldwell County Schools is proud to announce that Adrienne Dula, a lifelong advocate for local education and a true product of this community, has been named the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Dula will officially begin her new leadership chapter on February 1, 2026.
For Dula, this appointment is more than a professional milestone — it is a continuation of a lifelong commitment to the place that raised her. A graduate of West Caldwell High School, Dula’s educational journey began in the same halls where she would later serve as an educator. Her career has been defined by a deep-seated passion for every student's success and a profound respect for the educators who make that success possible.
Dula’s career path demonstrates her passion for the success of Caldwell County education. She has served as a teacher, a mentor to fellow educators in Caldwell County Schools Human Resources, an assistant principal at West Caldwell High, Davenport A+, and Gamewell Elementary, and a principal at Gamewell Elementary. Most recently, she served as the Director of Elementary Education. Having spent years in the classrooms and offices of our schools, she possesses a rare and heartfelt understanding of the daily joys and challenges facing school staff.
“Adrienne’s leadership is rooted in a simple but powerful truth: our students can only reach their full potential when our staff is supported, valued, and fulfilled,” said Dr. Thomas Howell, Superintendent of Caldwell County Schools. “She understands that for a child to feel successful in the classroom, the teacher must feel successful, too. Her heart is with our people.”
Dula is laser-focused on a "people-first" philosophy. She believes that a thriving school district starts with a culture where staff members can share a sense of belonging with students as they navigate a mutual path to success. In her new role, she plans to bridge her passion for student achievement with strategic recruitment and retention initiatives.
“I am incredibly grateful to continue serving Caldwell County Schools,” said Dula. “I believe that when our staff feels seen and supported, that energy flows directly to our students. I look forward to building on our strong foundations and ensuring that Caldwell County Schools remains a place where people love to work and students love to learn.”
Dula will transition into her new role on February 1, bringing with her a legacy of dedication and a vision for a supportive, successful future for all.
