Challenging Children for Success

  • The face masking status for the week of January 24 - 28 is REQUIRED for students and staff.

    The school district will use a three-week rolling average of the positivity rate of students and staff, and if that rate is above 0.5 percent, then masks are required.

  • National Board Certified Teachers

    The National Board of Professional Teaching Standards recently notified eight teachers that they had completed the highest credential in the teaching profession. This group brings the total to 297 who have earned national board certification while serving in the Caldwell County Schools.

  • Open Enrollment for Student Transfers

    The school district provides an open enrollment period for student transfers from January 15 – February 28, which allows students to transfer from their home school district to a school of their choice depending on space availability.   • Three Remote Learning Days Added for Staff Development

    Three remote learning days have been added to the spring semester to allow teachers to complete state and local training. The remote learning days for students and staff are Wednesday, Feb. 2; Tuesday, Mar. 8; and Wednesday, Mar. 30.

  • Holiday Card Contest Winners Announced

    The spirit of the holidays is depicted in the annual student Holiday Card Contest as students captured the season with wintry landscapes, bursts of joy, and serene nature scenes in their winning card designs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels for the 2021 Caldwell County Schools holiday card.

  • Teachers and Students Reap the Benefits of GivingTuesday

    Through a concerted effort led by Caldwell County Association of Educators (CCAE) on GivingTuesday, the last Tuesday in November for people to support and give back to their communities, teachers’ projects were promoted and fully funded on DonorsChoose, a non-profit platform that allows individuals to donate directly to classroom projects.

    Digital assistants, powered by cutting edge, artificial intelligence (AI) are becoming an integral part of classroom instruction through a partnership with Merlyn Mind, the world’s first digital assistant that is designed to help teachers navigate all the technology tools at their disposal more easily and expeditiously.

  • Student Transfer Application Opens January 15!

    The open enrollment period for student transfer applications is January 15 through February 28, 2022. 

    If space is available and certain guidelines met, students may transfer from their home school district to a school of their choice. The online transfer application goes live on Saturday, January 15, and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, February 28, 2022.

  • School Safety Protocols and Procedures

    Face masks are REQUIRED for students and staff in grades K-12. Face coverings on buses and other school transportation are required as this is a federal mandate. Click here for more information on school procedures and protocols. 

    The Board of Education approved the Face Coverings policy (Policy 4231/5021/7263) on November 8, 2021. The policy defines parameters that determine whether face masks are required or optional. Face masks will be required whenever the COVID positivity rate for students and staff exceeds 0.5 percent within a three-week rolling average. The status of face masks will be announced on Fridays for the following week.

  • Meals for Students

    All parents are encouraged to complete the ONLINE Free and Reduced Application. Click here. Meals will be free to all students again this school year. Families may also be entitled to benefits offered through other organizations such as the P-EBT. Apply today and don't miss out on any beneficial resources for your children.

    The continuation of providing no-cost healthy, nutritious meals is due to the USDA extending its flexibility and reimbursement for school meals through June 30, 2022. The school district distributed approximately 2.4 million meals during the pandemic from March 2020 to August 2021.

    The Child Nutrition Department is a self-supporting, enterprise business that is a division of the Caldwell County Schools and partially funded by the federal government (USDA) to support meal and milk service programs for students and children in Caldwell County.
