  • CCS Teachers Awarded Community Ed Grants

    The Education Foundation Inc. of Caldwell County awarded teachers nine Community Education grants for innovative and educational projects totaling $12,238.91.

  • HMS Student Wins District Spelling Bee

    After 26 rounds of middle school students tackling the correct spelling of words, Braxton Griffin, 8th grader at Hudson Middle School, claimed the win at the annual Caldwell County Schools Spelling Bee. He and Emily Hussong, 8th grader from William Lenoir Middle, went word for word for nearly 20 rounds asking for origin or word, part of speech, usage in a sentence, and definitions of words such as Permian, sonata, jute, futon, bruin, stethoscope, and layette until one outlasted the other.

    In observance of Veterans Day, thousands of students throughout the district donned their red, white and blue in honor of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Services and fought vailiantly during wartime to protect the freedoms of this country.

  • Top 10 in the State for CTE Credentials

    The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction recently released the 2016-2017 Career Technical Education Credentials Report and the Caldwell County Schools ranked in the Top 10 in the state for the highest percentage of credentials earned through Career Technical Education (CTE) courses.
