    Applications are now being accepted for the North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten Program for the 2018-2019 school year. Applications can be found online, in every elementary school office, or the Preschool Office at the Freedman Center. For questions, call the preschool office at 828-726-3920.

  • 2018 Hall of Honor Inductees Announced

    The Caldwell County Schools will present the 16th Annual Hall of Honor induction ceremony on Friday, April 27, 6:00 pm at the JE Broyhill Civic Center in celebration of Caldwell County graduates who have made significant personal and professional contributions to their community. The 2018 Hall of Honor inductees are Robert O. (Bob) Floyd, Jr., Gregory Paul Knight, and Cecil E. (Sonny) Viverette, Jr. Posthumous award will be presented to the family of Mary Hood Thompson.

  • CCS Students@Work with Google

    Caldwell County middle school students are engaged in learning more about technology and career choices, as they work side by side with Googlers during the Students@Work℠ event sponsored by Google in support of the North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE) and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

  • Reconfiguration at Valmead Elementary and West Lenoir Elementary

    At the March 12 Board of Education meeting, the School Board voted to reconfigure the grade levels served at Valmead Elementary and West Lenoir Elementary, a discussion that was introduced last June to parents, faculty and staff at both schools.

  • It's Time to Register Children for Kindergarten Screening

    Children who will turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2018 will be eligible to register for kindergarten this spring. Parents are encouraged to register rising kindergarten students now during kindergarten screening at the elementary school located in their attendance area.
